History of Ocean R.O.S.

1993 – Dr. Edward Lvovsky establishes Oncology Services of 86th Street (the predecessor of Ocean Radiation Oncology).

2003 – Dr. Pavel E. Lvovsky joins Ocean Radiation Oncology.

2005 – CT Simulation and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) services established at Ocean Radiation Oncology, making Ocean Radiation Oncology a leader in advanced radiotherapy technology services in Brooklyn.

2006 – AcQSim CT Simulator installed at Ocean Radiation Oncology, enhancing the sophisticated radiotherapy treatment planning capabilities at Ocean Radiation Oncology.

2006 – TomoTherapy system is first used for treating patients at Ocean Radiation Oncology, making Ocean Radiation Oncology the first center in all of New York City to offer this cutting-edge, highly precise Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) treatment system.

2006 – Siemens Primus linear accelerator begins operation for treating patients at Ocean Radiation Oncology, adding to the technological sophistication in Ocean Radiation Oncology’s collection of treatment machines.

2010 – Dr. Jinesh N. Shah joins Ocean Radiation Oncology from Columbia University Medical Center (while he continues to serve as Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiation Oncology at Columbia University, New York, NY).

2010 – Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) program arrives at Ocean Radiation Oncology (with acquisition of Body Pro-Lok system and 1.0 cm TomoTherapy treatment jaws), allowing for treatment of small tumors in the lungs, liver, and other body sites in a highly focused and precise manner.

2011 – Medical records become fully electronic at Ocean Radiation Oncology, contributing to efficient and safe patient care.
