Our Team

Radiation Oncologists

Radiation Oncologists are specialized doctors who have been thoroughly trained in the effective and safe use of radiation to treat cancer and other conditions.  Radiation Oncologists work closely with all members of the radiation therapy team to develop your treatment plan and ensure that each treatment is delivered according to prescription. They work with other specialists, such as Medical Oncologists and Surgeons, to coordinate your cancer care before, during, and after your radiation therapy treatments. Your Radiation Oncologist will also monitor your progress and adjust the treatment as necessary to make sure the radiation is hitting its target while minimizing side effects.

Becoming a Radiation Oncologist requires an extensive educational background: four years of undergraduate schooling, four years of medical schooling, one year of internship, and four years of specialty training in radiation oncology.  Board certification is earned through the American Board of Radiology.
