Xoft is a special internal (brachytherapy) technology that a select number of tumors can benefit from. Unlike external beam radiotherapy in which high-energy X-rays or electrons are directed at the tumor from outside the body, brachytherapy is a form of radiation therapy in which a radiation source is placed inside the body, next to or within the tumor.

However, unlike other forms of brachytherapy, Xoft delivers a unique, non-radioactive electronic radiation—using a miniaturized X-ray source—to the tumor site with minimal radiation exposure to surrounding normal tissues. This allows the Radiation Oncologists at Ocean Radiation Oncology to treat patients who require brachytherapy with greater comfort than when using other brachytherapy treatments.
